The Soft Boys
Well, if you don't know, The Soft Boys were Robyn Hitchcock's first major band. They released two albums, A Can of Bees and Underwater Moonlight before breaking up. Another release was Invisible Hits, a collection of rarities.

One of their gigs in NY had Peter Buck in attendence, and apparently the young guitarist liked Underwater Moonlight quite a bit.

In the 21st century they had a reunion and released a new album, though it seems to my ears like a Robyn Hitchcock solo album with his old bandmates on board.

Their sound is a bit more "raw" than a Robyn solo album.

So, lend them your ears

Re: The Soft Boys
I have Underwater Moonlight, and some live stuff, but I didn't actually realise they'd released two. Oops. How does A Can of Bees compare?

It's not as good as UM, but it's still pretty good. It has a lot of harmonica, which is nice.

The had the amazing ability to be both a great band and just not give a crap. Should've been a recipe for success.

My name's Alek, and I approve of this message.
